چکیده
(Abridged) Surveys of protoplanetary disks in nearby star-forming regions (SFRs) have provided important information on their demographics, but due to sample sizes, they cannot be used study how disk properties vary with the environment. We conduct a survey unresolved millimeter continuum emission 873 identified by Spitzer L1641 and L1647 Orion A cloud. This is largest such yet, allowing us identify even weak trends median mass as function position cloud cluster membership. The detection rates masses are also compared those (<300 pc) SFRs. was observed ALMA at 225 GHz, rms 0.08 mJy/beam (1.5 M$_{\oplus}$). data were reduced imaged using an innovative parallel processing approach. detect 58% (502/873) disks. includes 20 dust >100 M$_{\oplus}$, two objects associated extended emission. infer full $2.2^{+0.2}_{-0.2}$ M$_{\oplus}$. In $2.1^{+0.2}_{-0.2}$ M$_{\oplus}$ $2.6^{+0.4}_{-0.5}$ respectively. distribution similar that low-mass SFRs ages 1-3 Myr. find only (dust) galactic longitude between YSO clusters sample, varying $\lesssim$ 50%. Age differences may explain these variations. Apart from this, essentially constant scales ~100 pc. suggests majority disks, different SFRs, formed initial evolve rates, assuming no external irradiation, loss $\sim 10^{-8}$ M$_{\odot}$/yr.

An Alma Continuum Survey of Circumstellar Disks in the Upper Scorpius Ob Association
We present ALMA 880μm continuum observations of 20 K and M-type stars in the Upper Scorpius OB association that are surrounded by protoplanetary disks. These data are used to measure the dust content in disks around low mass stars (0.1-1.6M⊙) at a stellar age of 5-11Myr. Thirteen sources were detected in the 880μm dust continuum at ≥ 3σ with inferred dust masses between 0.3 and 52M⊕. The dust m...
متن کاملAn ALMA survey for disks orbiting low-mass stars in the TW Hya Association
We carried out an ALMA survey of 15 confirmed or candidate low-mass (<0.2 M ) members of the TW Hya Association (TWA) with the goal of detecting molecular gas in the form of CO emission, as well as of providing constraints on continuum emission due to cold dust. Our targets have spectral types of M4-L0 and hence represent the extreme low end of the TWA’s mass function. Our ALMA survey has yield...
متن کاملSubmillimeter studies of circumstellar disks in Taurus and Orion
We highlight two recent studies of circumstellar disks in the Taurus and Orion star forming regions. Using the JCMT and CSO, we measure disk fluxes in Taurus over a wide range of submillimeter wavelengths and determine the frequency dependence of the dust opacity. We find clear evidence for a systematic change in its behavior with time, most readily explained by grain growth. Using the SMA, we ...
متن کاملMassive Protoplanetary Disks in Orion Beyond the Trapezium Cluster
We present Submillimeter Array observations of the 880μm continuum emission from three circumstellar disks around young stars in Orion that lie several arcminutes (& 1-pc) north of the Trapezium cluster. Two of the three disks are in the binary system 253-1536. Silhouette disks 216-0939 and 253-1536a are found to be more massive than any previously observed Orion disks, with dust masses derived...
متن کاملA deep survey of brown dwarfs in Orion with Gemini
We report the results of a deep near infrared (JHK) survey of the outer parts of the Trapezium Cluster with Gemini South/Flamingos. 396 sources were detected in a 26 arcmin area, including 138 brown dwarf candidates, defined as M< 0.075M⊙ for an assumed age of 1 Myr. Only 33 of the brown dwarf candidates are planetary mass candidates (PMCs) with estimated masses in the range 0.003 <M< 0.012M⊙. ...
